Simple problem to those who know what there doing, using the excel workbook I have a simple calculation using one of the free cells lower down the sheet. EG H78. How do I use excels grammar to use this in the bet rules/conditions section up the top of the sheet? do I have to do something to the cell before it can be accepted in the rules/conditions?

=IF(H78>5,"back","") this was an attempt or is supposed to go
back(=h78>5) as you can see I'm pretty lost.

Hi thanks for the response, no, i'm not trying to back every horse, i was under the impression that the code added to the lines next to the selection would only effect that horse. (indicated by the red arrows)

I've attached an image, basically Im looking to back a selection if the conditions in cell xx are met.

I've tried a couple of variations but cant get it working.

Could be because you used lower case ("back" instead of "BACK")?

Found out it was because i pushed the space bar after "if", its up and running now. Excel is nearly as finicky as my wife...I say nearly.
