How much liquidity is there in the horse market? In my opinion there appears to be much more than there actual is.

The market seems to be somewhat inefficient too.

Yeah i'd agree with that, particularly today.

If you sat and watched betfair without particiapting you would think that you could just get in and out of the market as you pleased. Though when you actually try and put some money through, bets seem to either sit there unmatched or liquidity suddenly disappears.

Place market is very odd. Difficult to more than a score on at the price on screen nowadays. :(

I think the underlying liquidity is worse than it has been, I have highlighted this to Betfair but they seem to be relaxed about whatever shape the market takes. So I think have to work in and around it.

My average stake has fallen over the years because I find it harder to get larger amounts matched so I've had to modify my trading to split up stakes in order to get in and out of the market safely.

pc drives other big players away..just hard to keep it going when u have to give a portion of your winnings away most weeks if you are doing well
