Have Ladbroke's got themselves some relatively cheap publicity? I can't believe that any bookmaker would take bets on an event where the result was already known. Were any other bookies offering odds?

Not true, they were quite a number of bookmakers a few years back offering odds on Pompey being relegated to League 2!

Joking aside, I do believe this is filmed well in advance, so I assume there's quite a lot of people who know the outcome. This usually goes against their ethos, but there again they champion FBOT's, and these are not level playing fields

But essentially it's going to cost them money - I can only think they are after some relatively cheap publicity over being "conned". I'd be surprised if it cost them more than a few thousand. They are not going to let people pile on. I'm reminded when the betting on the completion date of Wembley Stadium was suspended after a series of hefty bets from men in hard hats!
