I've just realised what it is...The servers are overloaded...they are calculating Breon's wage slip! :D

Thanks for the heads up, didn't even notice. Had some bets on Hammers and couldn't cancel them for a few mins. Day off for me then, hope they don't mess this weekend up when footy is back.

Back again, then freezes and back. It's all over the place.

That debacle with 320 Brighton (freezing before the off) has cost me £487, a weeks profit down the drain through no fault of my own. That could be the end for me with Betfair and Bet Angel. Nothing ever seems to be done whenever this happens and Bet Angel as a company just seem to accept it as an occupational hazard, instead of trying to ensure that their customers don't get shafted.

Sorry to hear that A; thats a lot to lose through no fault of your own.
In fairness to Betangel; its not their fault either and I do know Peter raises this when he gets the chance. However, Peter is also a customer of Betfair in the same way you and I are.

Totally agree, we all take the same risks and you can't blame a software vendor for betfairs incompetence.

Thanks PeterLe,
So me not being able to close my trade pre-off due to the exchange freezing is my fault ? Well silly me. Yes
Peter is also a customer of Betfair but I am a customer of Peter. Some help or support for customers would be appreciated instead of smart arse comments.

Hi Forum,

I like alot of others got clobbered on the Brighton race But I did have outstanding lay bets on winner countered with take spot Price accepted before the outage.
about the half the bet was take as spot price but not all of it, which would have left me with a small loss..

Do any of you guys know if this is worth taking up with Betfair. I took screen shot pictures on my camera to prove the take spot price issue!
any help would be appreciated thanks

Nobody said it was your fault Ajax, read his comment again. Unfortunately outages like this do happen sometimes and pissed off or not you have to accept that fact if you plan on trading in the future. If you need to take out some of that anger then I suggest you go over to Betfair Helpdesk on Twitter like everybody else, that's basically what those guys are there for.

I am sorry to hear you took a loss beecause of a problem at betfair but its something thats happened to all of us one way or anorther in the past but blaming bet angel or PW is not the way, Bet angel is just a interface desigined to make placing bets and trades easier and the stability of Betfair can t be blamed on them, Its a bit like owning a Sony or Samsung TV then complaining to them that you cant see any pictures because Sky/BBC have a loss of signal

I think that's incredibly harsh to be honest. We are unique in being the only people in the industry that actually trade using our own software and money, so we suffer with everybody else when this happens. I once lost £7500 due to a Betfair cock up, so I didn't exactly sit there accepting that it was part of the mix. I wasn't exactly happy, I can tell you!

Every time the site flips out I have a go at Betfair, but as the more pragmatic posters have noted. It isn't making much difference by the look of it.

To be honest it's much better if users bombard Betfair with complaints rather than us. Despite my long-term relationship and standing with Betfair, I just get brushed off every time now.

We even expanded the BETDAQ software at our own expense to ensure there is a viable alternative to trade. So I think it's safe to say we have done our bit.

I think most posters here just realise that because Betfair have a monopoly is unlikely that anything will change soon unless they start losing business to another exchange. It's only money that appeals to Betfair nowadays.
