When the selling starts the panic sets in and causes more selling. I think this still has some way to go don't you?

Dont know much about the China market. But i have a short position on US equities which i think are overpriced. Having said that i have had this position for a while and you definitely need to be able to hold it. I would like to see the VIX (volatility) a bit higher, which should mean selling

Well VIX is a multi-year lows at the moment, so that's usually a precursor to a bit of volatility.

Yeah VIX around 12.6 is very low. would like to see closer to 20. Its also better for trading. more volatility means more to work with

It took traders by surprise...... China has devalued it currency, cementing the fears that they are slowing even more than was feared
Such a move will really hit larger global brands as Apple who export to China
On the plus side... a nice jump in volatility today

Love the way it's been coined the Great Fall of China.

After a day when the margin departments across America deserve combat pay,US presidential candidates made political hay out of what has been a 6 Standard Deviation drop in the S&P 500 since last Wednesday’s close. Unhealthy relationship with China? Er, they only represent about 2% of US GDP. Rigged markets? Even the evil Wall St. institutions wouldn’t purposely undo 10 months of rally in 3 trading days. Look, I don’t blame them for trying to make news, but they promote the myth that a President, or anyone, can have some control over a random market. Ultimately , the market will do what it needs to do to correct itself
