Provinding there was enough money on the lay side yes it would be fully matched, on UK races right up till the horse is well ahead in the last furlong there is always going to be several k waiting on the lay side even if its all at very low odds of 1.02-1.10 you will be matched for something by backing at 1.01.

The same method will work on both the ladder and in-play trader tool, all the screen view effectivly do the same just display the information in different ways, you can place back or lay bets at any point you wish even if a long way from the current price it will automatically match you at the best price and placing a back at 1.01 will always ensure a 100% match with just 1 click.

Advantages of the ladder is you can see exactly how much money is avalible and at what prices a long way above and below the current trading price and where the bulk of the recent money is being matched, advantages of in-play trader is that you can get a better feel for how the prices are moving for the whole field and a better overview of the race.

One the once click grid view you can only place your bets upto 5 price points away from the current trading price so cant alway be guaranteed of a complete match with just one click (unless the money avalible on those 5 price points add up to more than the stake you are going to try and back with in the far left box but even the the price moves so fast inplay by the time you bet hits the market its a good chance price has moved dozens of ticks lower and therefore you wont be matched at all) - You might be able set up custom colums so you may be able to set up a 1.01 price point then you could use this to place and ensure all back bets where fully matched using this screen but its not something i have used personnally.
