Firstly, I appreciate anyone's assistance in advance for helping me with this.
What I am essentially seeking to do is set up the below betting plan on horse racing, and then not need to interfere with it whilst I can be out during the day:
1) Set up my BOT with several horse selections each day, each horse would be in a separate races and with a specified BACK price.
2) IF this BACK price is met and the bet is place, the BOT then begins seeking a LAY bet at a specified price. This LAY bet would vary for each selection and would need to be kept active during inplay of the race if not reached beforehand.
I thought this would be a relatively simple mechanism, but I have looked at a few BOTS and haven't seen anything which seems to offer the above.
Am I missing anything?
Kind Regards,
Alistair
BACK @ price, LAY @ price
If your choosing horses by name (not a fav or in order of betfairs index) and also want different back odds and even different lay odds for each individual horse there is no rule in guardian that can be completly set up and just applied.
Its still straight forward to make the core of the rule which then just needs to be duplicated for each selection you want. Then each day you will need to load the races which have one of your selections running into guardian apply the rule to each then go into each one individually and specify the horse name, back and lay odds, and stake (if also different from selection to selection).

Thanks for the advice.
I've had a look... please tell me if this is correct for what I am seeking to do.
I have started up Guardian and loaded each market for the selections I have. For each market/selection I have the following two rules created;
Back
Place Back Bet - Arm Trigger 11.00 until 22.00
Allow trigger up to 1 times, wait 2 seconds before rearming
Applies to selection by horses name
Place bet at fixed price (specify the required odds i.e. 3.0), Stake at fixed amount (£10)
Conditions - the market is NOT in plat
Lay
Place Lay Bet - Arm Trigger 11.00 until 22.00
Allow trigger up to 1 times, wait 1 seconds before rearming
Applies to selection by horses name
Place bet at fixed price (specify the required odds i.e. 2.7), Stake at fixed amount (i.e £10)
Conditions - matched bet on selection = 1
This should set Guardian up to begin looking to BACK a selection at a specified price, once matched it will then look to LAY that selection at lower specified price. I would also like the BACK bet to cancel if not matched when the race starts, however the LAY bet can stay active in-play.
I then have each of automation rules applied uniquely to each market and selection. Then it's as simple as walking away and leaving BetAngel open on my computer?

Alistair

Yes you have it pretty much spot on as far as i can see WD
Just want to check one thing - when you say "I would also like the BACK bet to cancel if not matched when the race starts, however the LAY bet can stay active in-play" do you mean if back is matched keep the unmatched lay in-play or keep unmatched lay in-play even if the back is not matched and therefore cancelled at the off?.
If its the first then your rule is fine as it is, if its the latter you will need to add the following rule line to cover that eventuallity - as it stands if you back bet is unmatched when it goes in play it will be cancelled (as you want it to do) but the lay wont be placed either after this as it is set to only trigger once a back bet is matched.
Apply the following additional rule line which will come into effect should you back not be matched pre off and you still want your lay to be placed post off.
Place a lay bet
Relative to in-play time "arm 00:00:02 till 00:20:00" after event goes in play
Allow to trigger once
Applies to selection by horses name
Place bet at fixed price (specify the required odds i.e. 2.7), Stake at fixed amount (i.e £10)
Conditions - matched bet on selection = 0
Otherwise its just a case to testing it in practice mode for a few races to you are sure all eventualitys are covered (no matter how simple a rule is get into the habbit of always doing this as one small typo or wrong box ticked somewhere etc that is overlooked can cost you dearly).
If it does throw up any issues for some reason or you want to modify and you cant figure out why just post back and ill see if i can help.
Then once your complelty happy move to real mode and good luck.
