Was it very late on? I didn't see it but I exit a little bit before the off so may have been on the next market by then.oscar123 wrote:Did you see the 20k appear on the other side on Betdaq just before the off?
Not sure how much of it was matched, though it was definitely there for a bit.
Found the big amounts messed the markets up today, hard to have much confidence backing things when the idot is around with such large amounts paying no attention to the market.
Didn't see them in the last two markets so maybe they have headed out for the night. Enjoy wolvs - not for me these days.Dallas wrote:Hold onto your seats for wolverhampton
Its not normally my cuppa tea but gonna stick around hope there not out spending there winnings, once you alter your normal style you can use this guy and its fairly easy pickings (after first few losses early on).andyfuller wrote:oscar123 wrote:Did you see the 20k appear on the other side on Betdaq just before the off?

My personal opion is part in agreement with LeTiss and that it has something to do with no PL, if its not a bored PL player its someone from the footie markets i notice this quiet often in the off season - one things for certain there not from a stable or horse racing connection with there random lays, even seen him go from that lucky 17:45 at Kemp where it came right into 1.18 straight to naven with 30sec to go and just throw 25K @ 3.5 ended up pushing that price to 4.5 within next 2mins

Myself and another trader that I chatted to throughout the day used to call him Money bags - it may not be the same person now but the M.O. is very similar. The best time was when they very first started the behaviour on outsiders but backing them. It was literally like picking up £50 notes of the floor.
I owe them a a few drinks if I were to ever meet them!

Yes it was very late on. I only noticed as there was a bit of discprenancy between the prices on the two exchanges and i was just watching out of interest to see how long it would hold up. I think the person pushing the price out on betfair had 20k up around 2.64ish, yet it was only around 2.54/2.56 on betdaq.
The person pushing the price out on betfair kept putting his money in and taking it out, then 20k flashed up on betdaq asking to back the horse at around 2.6 ish. It was only up there for a bit then both big amounts disappeared. I dont know how much, if any of it was matched.

Wolverhampton was a lot smoother, whoever was throwing their money around earlier seemed to have stopped, glad i stayed on.
Made more from 5 races at Wolverhampton than I had done from the whole of the other 5 meetings on today.

Great result oscar, It says a lot about the days overall trading when the most stable meeting is a evening at Wolverhampton - how often can that be said
Who ever it was must of gone to drown there sorrows or there partying till the early hours - i lost track of there overall position.

Cheers Dallas. I don't mind the night time A.W meetings, prefer them to actual summer night racing meetings if I'm honest. I think the all weather has a hardcore following amongst punters and there is more genuine money about, though I agree sometimes the Wolverhampton markets seem a little wild.
Today was crazy though, found it very difficult during the day meetings, prices suddenly shooting off in every direction for no apparent reason.

Well done Oscar - you are smashing Betdaq!
Thanks Andy. I wouldnt say smashing it, but there is definitely money to be made on there.
Reading round the internet though i sometimes get the impression that there is only you, me, Euler and a couple of others who trade on Betdaq.
Everybody else seems to prefer to trade exclusively on betfair and pay them a slice of their earnings for the privilege!
