Although there are numerous horses missing from the list that have sold privately, it is still an interesting read (if somewhat poorly researched):

Thanks. Quite interesting.

I think it is funny how they reference northern dancer as if it is unusual or noteworthy in some way, because it is hard to find a modern thoroughbred (at least in Australia) that doesn't have northern dancer in their bloodline (most times northern dancer will be there multiple times).

Yes, that was partly why I said about it being poorly researched. You do well to fine many horses who aren't traced back through the Northern Dancer sire line.

A fascinating book about the auctions is Horsetrader: Robert Sangster and the Rise and Fall of the Sport of Kings:

I have a copy on my shelf but I haven't read it for many years but I remember it being a very insightful book and well worth the read.
