Betfair must know that this is an issue though.. I mean I can't even load the website at times.

Wonder if it's another DDoS attack.

Via BDP forum

"We are aware that network issues are causing intermittent timeouts which are affecting API customers.

This is being investigated as a high priority as we try to understand the root cause.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused by these issues.

Kind Regards

Traffic is routed elsewhere to avoid that now.

I clicked on a link on the website and was transported to the old site, it's still there. Looks like it hasn't been switched off just disabled.

How long was it down for? Looking at my log files, all seemed well as it was firing bets in?

Whatever problems they had yesterday, they're still there. Timeouts at

10:36:35
10:48:12
10:59:32

just seconds every time, but shouldn't happen.

Maybe betfair is running on these switches:

I'm pretty sure Betfair have moved into the cloud so they can add and reduce capacity (no doubt cost cutting). So I reckon these outages are when they switch capacity.

i assume we should now expect these 10 - 20 sec freezes as normal behaviour?
