I had horses with Luca and rode out for years with Michael Jarvis when Roger Varian was Assistant. I would guess it's something to do with Luca's loyalty to Adam Kirby & Mohamed wanting to call the shots. Luca is very much his own man and there may have been friction over Jockey arrangements; while Roger is more collegiate..and would row in with Sh M. wishes i think. Certainly with Godolphin they are largely 'yes men' and if you work there they own you. Luca would not stand for that. Only MO..i have no inside knowldege.
