Now, there a few tights that cross my mind.

They are now offering betting from USA tracks, be cos new technology is available, that people can watch web video, only 1 Sec or so, behind live .. Allegedly.

Is this becos they have a solution from the picture supplier they own .. I think it's called TVR .. Or, has technology just improved ?

Will they attempt to block "courtsiders", who are from the USA .. Who may be breaking the wire act ?

If it's just a general improvement in live feeds, then it should be available across all sports, within a shortish time period .. And one would expect, Liquidity to rise ..

Not a new dawn really, but a bit of marketing.

Up until two years ago Betfair always had the Breeders cup inplay, but then dropped it without warning.

I was at Santa Anita last year and queried while I was there why they couldn't offer it in-play. They said it wasn't possible to get somebody to cover the event. 1/2 earlier I'd just driven past their head office in LA. So that obviously was not the reason.

But at least it's inplay again now.

It seems to be clashing with Wolverhampton tomorrow night so it will be interesting to see how well it fares.

I def saw a text update from Bf a while ago, saying they were trialling new data speeds.

I am expecting the video to be close-ish to 1 sec behind live .. if its not, then, it will b a major disappointment.

This was the blurb I saw .. Aug 28

US Racing IN-PLAY
We are currently in the process of testing a new live streaming provider for US racing. The sourcing of the new stream will be the prelude to allowing us to offer in-play betting on American racing.

The current testing process is well underway and is accompanied by the necessary behind-the- scenes product development work. We will confirm to all of you when this is ready for launch.

An in-running trader -

Was told by the suspend man from betfair the other day it would be half a second behind live

Don't forget that US racing goes off when it decides not when the post time is, so it can go of miles early or miles late and anything in between.

Years ago I used to do US racing and it was quite easy money. It wasn't like you made loads per trade but over the year it really did add up.

I have been told by someone else who used to do it most days that the higher PC killed the markets.

So I wouldn't be holding my breath that this is going to become anything major any time soon and be careful with automation given the variation in actual post time to scheduled post time.

I love US racing. And as people know, I'm all auto. Accounts for about 30% of my yearly profit.

Agree that start times is the biggest issue. Start times are "guidelines" only.

I'm happy for it to roll on as is for the foreseeable future.

I'd say there is a bit more money in-play than the average Aussie race. I'm enjoying it :)

£10k traded before the off on the 19:12 and about £500 in running, impressive.

Well I don't know who could possibly trade in-running but I've done very well over the past year in Aus gambling in-play and its a nice little earner. US racing seems to be even better as there are no courtsiders.

Think that's 2 1.01 shots lost tonight.

Hey Naffman, glad to hear you are turning a dollar.... or is that in pound's these days? The Dapto dogs miss you
Any idea as to the quickest feeds avaliable for US racing? I'd like to give it a try one morning. Not sure if you remember the dodgy excuse for a picture that SKY provide here in Oz for USA racing?.... but I highly doubt it's close to near real-time. Any info would be great

Its a pound these days! And I'm missing Dapto Dogs

Most racecourse websites have a live feed but currently it is only Keeneland offering in-play, but the Betfair LF seems quick enough. Hope this helps ;)
