Hi all..

Hope someone can help me clarify where this goes wrong..
Screen Shot 10-21-15 at 06.37 PM.JPG
Got a stop trigger on 4 ticks. And place it at 6 ticks.
Meaning if i lay something @1,50.
I will put in the trigger bet if it hits 1,46 and put the offset bet at 1,44.. And for each tick it moves above 1,50 after the initial bet is places that stop/loss trigger will move same ticks.

In the below pictures i did exactly that. Lay Juventus @1,50. As can see there has been some trades well below but that was really early after the market was opened. And my lay bet was places around noon today. It offset later today @1,51

And for it to offset at 1,51 it should have hit 1,57 and then dropped right ??

I cant see in any logs why it did as it did.

Thanks in advance :)

/ Carsten

If the odds climbed to 1.55 then came back down to 1.51 this will of triggered your trailing stop (4 ticks) - but as it is effectivley just a back bet it will of been placed as requested (6 ticks below at 1.49) but betfair will always match you at the best price in this case money was must still of been availble at 1.51.

Good point yes. I was thinking it would just put in a bet and not get it matched before it hit that odds 6 ticks below.

Hmm.. How can things be done then... I dont want to trade out to early. And odds could drift again. But i still need that stop loss trigger.. And trail stops is good to avoid full loss if market has moved the right way at some point.

The only thing you could do is also increase the stop trigger to 6, this will effectively put the stop at the same price it triggers which does then carry the risk that the odds go straight through without the stop having chance to be matched, or increase both the trigger and placement by a few more ticks - its just a case of trial and error to find the sweet spot.

Thx for help dallas.

Im doing a trial. And will keep doing it until january. So can get a lot of games, and see how its doing by the different offsets. Im not able to follow the markets and exit manually. So its just a matter of taken the best there is. :)

At some point today i had 12% profit across all markets.. But when my strategy closed and greened it was only 3,7% So there is room for improvements :D
