Betfair API Down

Facebook,you tube,twitter and all the other global sites with much higher volumes of traffic dont have this many outages in a year combined.

I hit my exposure limit earlier because of this problem of bets not appearing then re-placing them.
Now that they've frozen the systems, it looks like my exposure is slowly ticking down again, so they must be reverting some of those duplicate bets I think.
What a mess!

Why is it only ever the exchange that goes down ?
Betfair Helpdesk : Any unmatched bets would be cancelled on volatile markets.
What the hell do they mean by volatile markets? I have about 2k unmatched on Arsenal and Chelsea. I asked for those games especially and they say it will depend on the time the site is back up.
