Which is what would happen anywhere as it suspends and goes in play.

Im sure this is only possible when the outage is at your end because the telephone operators still need to access the exchange via your account to place, modify or cancel bets so when its completly down there is no access by anyone so nothing can happen till it comes back online.

Yeah Dallas that is what I assumed but their replies were very vague, I don't know what they consider to be "volatile markets".

Cancelling unmatched bets is fine, but not for those who have massive liabilities and the bet currently unmatched is an offset bet

Doesnt the offset part come from the trading software itself and not the Exchange? If you turn off the software/market the offset is cancelled?

Stops are cancelled if the trading software is switched off but any offsets will be waiting at there respective price as a unmatched bet till exchange comes back online and it is matched or cancelled at in-play. Either way you have full exposure from your opening position.

The fact that the site was acting slow when making requests and then went down point to a DDoS attack?

Well it wasn't Euler, he has an alibi, he was asleep when it happened. I'm joking of course, he could easily have automated the DDoS attack.

When betting on Australian racing markets using my Australian wallet, does BA connect to the API in Tasmania?
