its interesting that with all the racing today, checking the voulme at 6.30 am the most money has been traded at shitty kempton,i wounder what the reason behind it is,? people going to work puting a bet on to watch when they come home ? or a traders pushing his shit up and down the ladder all day and night with bots ,no one would notice the bot because the a/w goes up and down like a whores knickers day and night anyway,
what are your thoughts there lads ??

I think there are a few reasons.

I think the A.W has a bigger following amongst form based punters than the day to day jumps stuff. Some of the midweek jumps racing is very weak.

Plus the declarations for the A.W come two days in advance and a lot of serious A.W punters have already studied the cards and with a lot of bookmakers pricing up races the night before some punters are ready to take all the value and bookmaker ricks before anyone else does, and that money must trickle down onto the exchange too, despite there being very little volume overnight.

Also there is a listed race at kempton tonight, which might attract slightly higher than usual volume.

Here we go into the winter, I ve got a lot on this week so wont be trading much next few days so its good timing for me at the moment but i always dread these inevitable abandonment's this time of year.

If any interest to anyone the Volume figures for yesterday where

Southwell - £3,653,287
Lingfield (AW) - £2,782,863
Fakenham - £2,676,832

All races turned over less than 600K except for 2 at Lingfield which reached 800k & 1.1m

N.b - I may of missed the last at fakenham if so it would be around 400K higher

Kempton tonight- The listed race on the card is quite high profile. Richard Pankhurst was originally a classic favourite quite some time ago. Bought by Godolphin and its possible he could be winning some big races next year. He was extremely impressive last year at Royal Ascot and beat some smart horse very easily. There is group 1 winners in the race and for a listed race tonight the fields ability is at least group 2 possible more if favourite is as good as expected.
Throughout the card there is high profile jockeys and some very well bred horses with big owner colours. In comparison to the rest of the racing, from a punting prospective, why would anyone be gambling on the national hunt racing.

12.30. The £1 per tick really caught me out. Back position opened at £100. Someone smashed a lay order. Got out quickly. Put a lay order in but the turns to £50 as over odds of 2.00 Made a nice profit in the end, but really frustrating. Should of been a massive trade profit.

The moves have been so big so far today that I got into a position and got it wrong 4 times in the first 4 races. Yet I have a very nice profit on the day already. lol

The NH Flat races are trading the best during the week at the moment. Nice reversal there
