I would say it will be much higher - a lot of people seemed to think that to watch the Sky Debate you had to have Sky which I think accounted for a lot of people not watching it.
It's a shame they're getting David Dimbleby to moderate the debate IMHO. I hate the way he cuts people off when they are giving interesting answers on Question Time, and lets other people waffle on interminably!
It would have been much more entertaining with Paxo!

I'd like to see them hooked up to polygraph machines with electrodes places on sensitive areas ready to deliver shocks anytime they weren't being truthfull, I'm sure such an event would hardly hurt viewing figures, you could probably put it on pay per view
You didn't miss much. I don't think Clegg did as well as before and I thought Brown was a lot stronger in terms of detail, quite a few times I thought he scored points when attacking Cameron and asking him many questions he refused to answer. I was surprised to see the polls put Cameron as the winner, almost seems to me like there's an unstopable tide towards a tory government now no matter what anyone says or does. A few weeks ago I thought labour might be good value but I certainly wouldn't back them now

I thought Cameron came out on top by a long way. I thought it was the best of the three debates, the novelty factor had gone which was good.
Clegg did okay but no better than before, I would say worse. He played the 'I am different than you two' card far too much. He was weak on immigration I felt, doing a poor job of justifying and explaining the amnesty. He also wasn't as prepared as previously and was looking at his notes too much.
Brown put in his best performance to date but considering this is his 'specialist' subject he didn't do anywhere near as well as you would expect. He has done much better at PM Q's before on this subject.
Brown continued with his ridiculous grinning when 'off camera' which I am sure pisses people off as he stands there grinning when others were talking about the huge debt mountain he has created and huge youth unemployment etc.
Brown/Labour imo are doomed as after 3 consecutive parliaments they have left the country in a dire state and therefore can't continue.
If we get a Hung Parliament Brown will be gone and if we don't Brown will be gone either way we get rid of him thankfully.
Brown also annoyed me with his 'I have never been so angry' line when talking about Fred the Shred. He trots that line out all the time, I thought he had never been so angry when he left his Mic on 2 days ago.
Brown also kept on harping on about how the conservatives want to give the Banks a Corporation Tax cut when it is not just the banks but all businesses. I think when Cameron explained that it made Brown look a bit daft.
Cameron as I have said I thought put in his best performance though like the other two looked tired. He like all the others seem fixated on the £6 billion which is a convenient smoke screen for the real cuts that are going to happen in a few weeks which I think most people in the Country don't think will really happen.
I agree with Mervin King that this Parliament is a poisoned chalice as the cuts need to be done and big time or else we will be the next Greece.
If we end up with a hung Parliament I think the markets will react badly to it and we are likely to have at least a week with no clear situation or leader. I suspect the Lib Dems will not do as they say and join with the 2nd most popular party but rather join with Labour and Brown will be holding on to the Leadership for dear life.
If there is an election to loose this is the one to loose as whoever wins isn't going to be popular in 4 years time and Strike season is just around the corner.

It wouldn't surprise me if Cameron is secretly hoping for a hung parliament - that way, he'd be able to be PM, and blame any problems that arise on the Lib Dems!

Worth getting the racing post this morning, not only for the horses but there is a 16 page pullout on the election. Lots of info re all sorts of betting/trading angles and some hilarious quotes/one liners.
My fav being "A Labour victory now seems possible only if Robert Mugabe flies in to count the votes". Classic

How do you guys think the FTSE will react on Friday if there's a hung parliament?
Will it think 'Eeek! This uncertainty is worrying!'
Or will it think 'At least the country won't be run by a former PR man and a chancellor who looks like he's just graduated from university! And if Vince Cable gets a say in the way the economy's run, then maybe we're not doomed after all!'

IMO it will think EEK as markets don't like uncertainty and if we have no clear majority there could be weeks of uncertainty as to who will be running the country.
Will it be a Lib Lab pack or Con. Lib pack or Con and some other party such as The Greens pack or will it be another election in a few weeks or will Brown as the current PM refuse to move or will the Queen decide on whom is to form a government (one option I would say you can rule out) etc etc....
If there is no clear majority who knows what will be the outcome and therefore if a hung parliament happens with days and if not weeks of deals being worked out expect the FTSE to go EEK
But I am no Share trader and the above is just my opinion as to what will happen.
I think the only way the FTSE won't go EEK is if the Conservatives get in with a majority if not we could be at risk of becoming the next Greece.

Just been a good feature about Greece on News Night and the end line summed it up:
"It is worth remembering that the Greece crisis was triggered when the incoming Government suddenly discovered the National accounts were wrong.
Couldn't happen here?
Well today the man who could be Chancellor by Friday said Briton's National accounts were, quote, a work of fiction!"
Whoever gets in I think we will be getting a scary budget in a matter of weeks even if Labour were to get back in despite just having a (pretend) budget weeks ago.

Hi Andy
I think we are in for a rough time.
And I don't buy Brown's argument that it's best to wait before making the cuts, due to economic uncertainty. I think his real reason for delaying swinging the axe is that he wants to delay the pain till after the election (even though in this case pain delayed is pain magnified).
