So is the internet drama part over or should I make more popcorn?

Scotty I hear what you're saying and know where you're coming from. My first 6 months or so in trading were very similar, worked on it for 16ish hours every day and then spent more hours thinking about trading while trying to fall asleep. Boundless enthusiasm and excitement combined with sleep deprivation made me feel like a mad scientist trying to work out a lifesaving formula. My best friend thought I'd lost my mind because I was leaving him messages about any little progress I had made, just endless walls of text every day, but to be fair he did ask me for updates :)

Anyway, not looking to add more fuel to the fire, you're obviously an intense person in general, I just wanted to try and explain why you received some very negative comments from people in case you don't see things too clearly at this moment, or in general. If you submit 6 posts in a row without any real context with arrogant comments like "stupid traders", "silly people" and "hope you cashed in on that" then some people are going to think that you're either spamming, trolling, whoring for attention or just plain making an ass out of yourself. Especially if you post straight up insults like "fuck face" or post P&L screens of baby stakes in a thread where a trader lost some serious money. I think it's safe to say that a lot of people will have an issue with posts like those.

Sorry for the long post, I guess what I'm trying to say is to perhaps "curb your enthusiasm" a bit, not necessarily in general but at least on this forum :)

Btw that IQ post was flat out hilarious. There are a lot of clever people on this forum and in trading in general, knowing your exact IQ is alarming enough but boasting about it on a public forum is another thing entirely, not even Steven Hawking knows his exact IQ. I wonder what he would say about boasting about it :ugeek:

A very well said and respected comment from you.
I just got a alittle excited about a few trades yesterday, whilst in the middle I was flipping in between the forum and trading.

The IQ was a general joke. Every IQ i have ever taken vary but are always between 160 and 190. Just felt it was appropriate to state it and in a funny lighter way.

I dont want to brag, but I get excited as I know I have such a natural ability at this and I like expressing myself and my progress.
I did a career quiz about 6 months ago, it said I should pursue a career in technical analysis or IT.

Looking possible

Cleary doing something right.

I have always just let the lies and pointless posts go over my head in the past and put it down to him just being a over excited newbie that has just discovered trading which clearly shows through his obvious overall lack of knowledge of the industry as a whole, but when he insults other traders then named individuals personally I just dont have the inclination to read such crap.

I already know how a few of the experienced traders view him I just hope there is nt any of the newer people to trading or people who dont visit the forum often that are effected or taken in by his posts.

He is the first and only person i have ever added to my "Foes" list so now i cant see any of his previous posts nor will any of his future ones show up for me.

I am guessing in reality you haven't vanished forever so may I offer you some constructive criticism that will help your trading.

You need to learn to keep your emotions in check a lot more. Just as you don't want to go on tilt when you have a bad loss, it can be equally as damaging to get over excited after a few good wins.

A level head which doesn't get effected emotionally by your trading results will help you make a lot more money in the long run.

This applies to everyone Scottydog, myself included, not just in trading as well - a clear head leads to better decision making.

Also I like to be nice to people on the way up as you will meet them one day again on the way back down.

Well that escalated quickly. Excuse the meme, but I guess he thought it was better to fall on his own sword than to simply apologize to everyone.

In other news, the nerd forum has a new member who is apparently sick of the negativity and the abuse from the BA community. /facepalm
