Automation Rule Advice Sought
Hi there, newbie here. I have setup an automation file in Bet Angel copied from one of Peter's videos namely, 'Lay The Draw, If Profitable'. This will lay the draw 5 mins before event start time up until the start time, £20 at the Best Market Price, the condition being that it is not in-play. The 2nd rule within this file, 'Green Out If Goal - and In Profit', greens all selections from 00:00 until 02:00Hrs with an unsuspended time condition that the time since the market was unsuspended is greater than 90 seconds, with the 'Green All Profit ' condition that the profit value across all selections is greater than £5. I have tried this in practice mode a few times now and it seems to average a profit of between £5 and £15 per football match. Am I right in thinking that this rule is susceptible to a 0 - 0 draw, or some other result or outcome, because this result, or results, would not produce the necccesary suspension long enough to 'Green All Profit' and if so is there a method by which I can mitigate against a 0 - 0 score or any other potentially negative outcome? Many Thanks
As with all the BA videos they are not profitable strategies they are just examples of how the software can be used and in the case of this video it focused on some of the features within the BA automation and how to set things up.
Yes your right there is a few occasions where a profit would nt be achieved, as you have already said 0-0 would mean you would have a loss, if there is a strong fav and the underdog scores first unless its late in the game the draw odds are likely to still decrease in odds rather than drift so there wont be a green out immediately if no other goal come eventually the draw odds will move into a green position and it'll green you out but at the lowest amount possible.
Im not really a football trader but with most football trades you can trade across a few markets to protect/build your position - there is plenty of basic strategies on the web but as a insurance on laying the draw some people will also back the 0-0 correct score for a small stake.
An example would be before K.O
If you layed the draw @ 3.0 for £20 (£40 liability)
you could back 0-0 @ approx 12.0 for £2 (£22 profit) if there is no goal this reduces your overall loss to just £18

Hi Dallas, are there any other rules I could place with the automation file itself that would act as a failsafe if, a) the rule doesn't trigger even after a goal is scored because it wasn't suspended for long enough? and b) if the score is 0-0 is there a rule I could set in place to green up or dutch out that would prevent a loss? I would be happy just to break even in such a situation. Rather than back a 0-0 I would prefer to incorporate any mitigating rules, parameters and/or conditions within the automation file itself if that is possible? - Cheers!
Not really otherwise everyone would be doing this then scratching it in the 80th min if still 0-0
After K.O the draw odds will slowly start to drop and the odds of the two teams will start to rise to counter balance this.
All the football markets are inter connected for example as the correct score lines move so does the over/under goal markets.
If you load up soccer mystic within Bet angel you can have a play around and see where the odds would move to etc depending on goal timings there is also a few videos demonstrating this on BA TV
