Betfair will always deny, no question about that. In the other hand you have to be reasonable. Why would anyone from betfair advertise that betfair is trading it's own market when officially denying that? It does not make sense. If is there anything cheecky about Betfair, they would have done under the table. For example there are a group of people that sweep money on tennis court around the world, I hear rumors that these people have actually offices in London and happily paying PC to betfair without riskyng being blocked or kicked out from Betfair..An under table deal which makes everyone happy, betfair and tennis courts traders

It does say on the 'sportsbook'
All the big book makers do exactly the same (and that is what the sportsbook is)
What would annoy me is if they hedge on the exchange with 0 seconds delay..

I dont have a problem with them trading there own markets as such, the question is are they doing so on a level playing field? as PeterLe pointed out do they encur the same bet delays we all do regardless if there trading the exchange dircetly or hedging there sports book?

How come you guys don`t have problem with that?
no offence, just trying to understand your standing point..

If really not a problem, please share all your trading data with me too, especially where you have your margin.

I might analyze them and build a counter strategy or even trade similar to you just with 22k stakes rather than 200 or 2000..

he is simply managing the markets. pressing the right buttons at the right time. Do you think he is making millions for betfair? or watching your bets? somebody has to manage liabilities from cross matching, suspend markets, turn on/off algorithms. Nothing suspect here.

This one may a good reason not tell you that betfair is actually trading it's own market.

Well I have kind of resigned myself that each day I bet on betfair I contract on their terms whether I like it or not

This is true. We all know though, deep down that something is going on there, it's just happened betfair to be lucky of some sort or maybe it's just some of us being paranoid about the exchange.
I know something that is 99.99% true. Betfair around year 2007 and perhaps even before they rigged the poker games so heavily by hiring "not with the contract" people playing for them. That was happening in Malta. Unfortunaly I never heard a single report or court case. Greeks, Cyprots and most of the south mediterranean players were the most targeted. I know it's hard to believe but you are also free to believe I am crazy

This is also true. We have to be patience and wait the development of a new trading idea which will come from now to about 10 years..It's already happening in USA but it's just a slow process..

Hello all I have a question that is probably asked a couple of times before but maybe it has something to do with the content of this thread.

The question is: how come (when for example I am watching a NBA livestream on a sportsbook site and betting/trading the match on betfair) that if something significant is happening and I am placing my bet almost intantly I already see bets from other people coming in and I have to wait a good 5 seconds or something before my bet is being placed? Can I bring my laptop to a tennis game? To a soccer match?
