Has anyone got advice as to when you should move up stakes in trading horses pre the off. I am currently trading very small amounts to see if I can be profitable (only started this 3 days ago) and have been in profit everyday so far even after a couple of mistakes on 2 days. I am in no rush to try higher stakes as I dont want to mess up and loose my bankroll while still learning Also is there a an amount you should be making pre trade on each race eg if a trader is using 100 stakes how much realistically should he be making a race or does it vary.
PS has anyone gone on the trading courses which are held every so often and are they worth the money?
new trading advice

I am not the most qualified here to tell you everything but I will help you.
Firstly 2/3 days is a very small time frame but that's fine. Some are quick learners and others are not. I have been trading nearly 6 months. I spend probably about 16 hours a day doing something to do with it if the markets are shut. If I could do more I would, I still haven't cracked it...
I would like to think I am fairly talented at this. I am currently in profit most days but I am still learning and there are a few pieces of the puzzle left for me to learn.
I feel i am in a very important few weeks, and I am pushing myself for cheltenham.
What does this have to do for your thinking?
Read this forum, everything you can think of will have an answer here for you somewhere.
I find when things are easy... I need to move onto the next level. Every time my results take a dip and my strike rate dips I know thats because Ive learned something new. Everytime without fail in the last 6 months. When I push to improve or learn my results turn and get a little worse. Stick with it. Its something your not trained to do. (assuming this is information or trading that is advised)
You should never have any predetermined profit before a pre race trade. Take what you can get and if you up your stakes take it steady.
Learning the hard way is the most common occurrence here for a lot of members.
If you see information constantly repeated on this forum. Use it!!!
The biggest thing I have learned from trading is. No matter who tells you not do something. To go and NOT do it is extremely hard. Sounds ridiculous but so true.
Peters Master course. Personally- I would recommend it 100%, I went in October and it was worth every penny for me.
Depends how serious you are, but you will learn and it will save you alot of time in the markets. You still need to put the hours in though afterwards.
I think about 95% of trader fail to make a profit. Its tough. Be tough.
Hope this helps.

Another little note before I forget.
There are so so so many ways to trade a pre race market. If you have a look on youtube there are lots of (EXCELLENT & INFORMATIVE) videos by bet angel.
Check out Caan's too some excellent videos.
Be careful though, there are some videos on youtube... that to someone with no experience look helpful and even though the promoter probably does trade for a living, some of the stuff that is spoken is complete nonsense.
Just because they can trade doesnt mean they are a good teacher.
So pretty much if the videos are not covered by Bet angel or Caan. IMO dont waste your time.
The whole point of this note is, there actually many ways to trade and i think this isa key to quicker success in trading. Infact i believe it is 100%. Trading as a whole is the same but there are so many ways to do it. Find the right style for you.
Obviously scalping and swing trading are what they are. But find a way that fits you best to interpret the market.
Learn to sing... but then sing in your own voice and style.
Everyone is different. Drive YOUR car to YOUR liking, The mirrors, seat and steering needs to be adjusted to you. Dont drive something that is suited to someone else.
I believe in this so much every brain is different. But still... learn all the fundementals as i still am.
So many ways to approach a market
