Why would someone put around 5000 pounds on races at odds of 1.02 the night before just seems an odd thing to do it seems to be on most races the night before.

This happens on every runner of every race, its just speculative money hoping someone miss clicks on the other side and they get a match which they can then trade out the following day for a profit. Or some of it will be people who want there money right at the front of the queue for when the race does go in play and something trades down that low
