Hi All,

I am wanting to set-up an automation that will place a back bet, then attempt to lay it off for a fixed profit in either £s or % of stake. I also want a stop loss that will do the same.

I have been able to create the automation, but only with ticks, not a target in £ or %.

Have I missed something?

Many thank for any help offered :-)

Create another rule type
"Green all Selections"

and just add the condition
"Green all profit Condition"
Greater than £X.XX

For the loss part you can either set a stop loss on the parmeters page of your original back rule Or:

Create a 2nd "Green all Selections"

with the condtion
"Green all profit condition"
Less than minus -£X.XX

Hi Dallas,

Thanks for your help, I'm still missing something, would you mind if I describe the scenario in full, could you talk me through the automation settings please?

I used to use a program called Betextrader. It was really simple, you manually selected a horse, told the system how much to stake, i.e £10, then gave it a target amount to win i.e £1 and a target stop loss i.e £1. (or could be done as % of stake) It would do the rest automatically, so it would palce the bet on a manual selection, then it would monitor the odds and place the right amount of cash to either generate a £1 profit in all scenarios, or a £1 loss in all scenarios. As long as I chose more selections that shortened in odds than lenghened then I was able to make a profit. Each trade either made +£1 or -£1.

I want to upgrade to Bet Angel as I would love to learn all of the other features, but I need to be able to implement my existing strategy whilst I learn. Ive been able to replicate it, but the 'ticks' confuse me as the same amount of ticks won/loss equals a different value in £s dependeing on the odds range, so I cant us the same rule for all selections to generate the same profit/loss

I'm sure its really simple, but its evading me at the moment!

Thanks again,

Jason

No problem i can talk you through each part, how many horse are you likely to select each race?
You can nominate upto two horse by name to run the rule on within guardian or set the rule to do every Fav/2nd Fav etc or every horse in row 1,2 or 3 etc

Depending on if its just 1 per race or sometimes more the rule will be set slightly differently

Ok in that case just do your rule as follows

General
Rule Type
Place a back Bet
(set your own times)
Allow rule to trigger 1 Time
Applies to selection
By Nomination "Guardian Nominated selection 1"

Parameters
Place at "Best market Price"
Stake "Fixed Amount" £10

Conditions
NONE

Now click on the green plus icon to create another new rule type:

General
"Green all Selections"
Allow rule to trigger 3 Time / 3 sec Re-arm

Parameters
NONE

Conditions
"Green all Profit Condition"
is "Greater" than £1.00

Now duplicate this (by clicking on the icon with 2 green arrows)
and change the following

Conditions
"Green all Profit Condition"
is "less" than -£1.00

Now once you have added your rules to guardian on the guardian main page use the drop down in the "Automation Nomination Selection 1" colum and select the runner you want to apply the rule to (see Image for example)

And that should do it, any problems let me know
