This is my idea.
x seconds into the race identify the in play favorite but dont place a bet
wait for any runner to reach odds of 1.2
compare this selection with the previous in play favorite
if both are the same place a back bet on the previously identified in play favorite
if they are not the same place a lay bet on the previously identified in play favorite

I can place a bet on the first to reach 1.2 but how do I compare the two selections and place back or lay bet depending on the comparison result.

Any help would be appreciated.

So you have identified which is fav
now you want to back if this horse reaches 1.2
if another horse reaches 1.2 you want to lay that runner?
or
lay the fav at whatever its current odds are?

hi, whichever horse is favorite i.e. number 1, after x seconds in play, is to be the selection. If it is the FIRST to reach 1.2 i.e. still number 1, place a back bet, if some other runner reaches 1.2 first i.e. the selection is no longer number 1, then place a lay bet at current odds on the selection.

Thanks for your quick response.

Sorry im still not clear on which you want to lay.

If another runner reaches 1.2 first do you want to lay that other runner @ 1.2
or
lay the selected fav @ 1.2 or its current odds (if another runner trades at 1.2)

It will always be the same selection to back or lay. First identify the in play favourite after x seconds.
Without placing a bet, "remember" this selection.
When any runner reaches odds of 1.2 compare the runner with the remembered selection.
If both are the same, i.e. its still number 1 place a back bet.
If the remembered selection is not the first to reach 1.2 i.e. its no longer number 1, then place a lay bet at current odds on the remembered selection.

Hope thats a better explanation.

Yes i understand it now, it can be done however are you aware this is very high risk and could result in a large loss?

When another runner is trading below 1.2 the remembered fav is very likely going to be above 100.0 possibly even higher, so you will need quiet a large bank to cover to possible liabilities even using very small stakes

If you layed it for £10 @ 100.0 and it comes back to win you will lose £1000

If you look at the "todays racing" and "Chart of the day" thread you will see many runners do come back from these high odds there was one come back from 1000.0 just a few days ago had that been your fav you would be looking at a potential 10K loss from a £10 lay bet.

Gotcha. Then ignore the lay aspect and just place the back bet if remembered selection is also first to reach 1.2 otherwise no bet
