Folks,
This morning I applied a long established Guardian rule to 17 horse racing markets, and headed out for the day.
It's a really simple rules file, has 8 individual rules, 6 of which can fire pre race, and 2 in running. One of the rules is set to back at "best price" several minutes before the start of a race, so I will always have at least one matched bet.
Today on three races, no bets were placed, and this was confirmed by checking the automation log. The only entries in the log are the standard suspended/unsuspended timestamps. The rule executed absolutely fine on the other 14 races.
The rules are long established, and have executed flawlessly previously on hundreds of occasions, and I am 100% sure it's nothing in the logic.
I cannot understand how the triggers could have fired, but no bets placed..? - one idea I had was that the Guardian scheduler runs locally, and if there were a connection loss then the bets couldn't be placed, but I've checked my router logs and the connection has been up all day.
I'd be most grateful if anyone could suggest what could possibly have caused this, or offer any suggestions on debugging via another method than the automation log.
Cheers
Steve
Odd behaviour in Guardian today..
Hi Dallas,
Thanks for the reply.
That would explain it, but oddly three problem races were all at different courses - Leicester, Kelso and Fontwell. I've checked the suspend/unsuspend time for all three, and they were no more than 2 mins late starting.
The part that is bugging me is that the triggers fired at the correct offsets defined in the rule, but didn't fire any bets.
I've gone through what I think is a logical checklist and eliminated the obvious such as- "did my account have the required funds, was the connection up, was the market suspended". All of these were ok, so I'm now a bit stumped..!
Cheers

Steve
I used guardian on two accounts but both in play with a condition that switches to the market when in play.
I had the systems running on a screen at the side of me whilst I carried out my day job isn't see anything untoward?
