It's coming up to 2 years since I attended Peters' masterclass having ceased my arbitrage and taken up trading.
I thought I would give my general views and would welcome any comments.
Firstly for anyone struggling as a newbie you have my sympathy,I had +10 years full time at arbitrage so have a very good understand of odds, value and maths.
I do think this has taken off 2 or 3 years learning time,I think it's realistic to look at 5 years learning the ropes as a complete beginner from outside the industry.
Not to earn any money but to earn a good FT living,I would think most people would break their bank or give up before that though much as they do with arbitrage.
Without doubt the hardest part for me has been that I am risk adverse and trading is the opposite of arbitrage, however I'd rather be that than indisciplined and reckless.
I am now at 80% of my previous earnings but it would be fairly easy to exceed them however I tend to settle for x amount a day profit whereas with arbitrage I'd just keep going and going.
As for sports I'm trading what I imagine is the big 3,horses,soccer and tennis.
No question horse racing has been the hardest to master,I have stepped away from it several times.
I understand people love their charts but personally they just confuse matters I find using market forces a much more profitable.
Soccer I find pretty easy probably because of years of betting on it,having said that I had years of betting on tennis and struggled with that to start.
TennisTrader has been fantastic for me in understanding value and that is key for tennis as it shows where the value is.
Hopefully trading sites continue and I will keep on learning.
