First of all, hello all and be gentle, I'm a newbie to BA (tho learning fast hopefully).

I've adapted one of the scalping rules (horses) to back/lay on 1 tick from 7 minutes out until 15 seconds before the race starts. I'm comfortable with how it's all working but have a minor niggle.

Outline of the functionality
I'd like to be able to automatically stop the bot when my profit rule is fired (I've got a rule that fires to green all selections, using a Green All Profit condition). This profit rule kicks in right from the start and is active until the race goes into play. When it fires, based on my greater than amount, it works great and everything is greened up. Fab!!

The Issue
The bot then happily continues on it's merry way and the secured profit is blown away. This means that my profit condition (altho good), is of little value as the process continues and is liable to wipe out any accrued profit by the start of the race.

My Question
Is it possible to instruct the bot to stop on encountering a rule such as this - i.e. literally stop it dead, thus retaining the desired profit that the rule had triggered on.

I'm sure it's all there, if I RTFM, but for the life of me, I can't figure out this simple puzzle piece. Hope someone out there has and is willing to share.

All the best

On your scalping rule/s types add the condition

"Green all profit Condition"
Less than £X.XX (set the amount just below what your profit green up rule amount is).

That will stop any more back/lays being placed once over your target profit

Hello Dallas - Thanks for that tip. Had I waited 10 more minutes, I would have found the same advice in this topic: viewtopic.php?f=37&t=11531

But once again, thanks for the speed in answering, hopefully my question rate won't be too frantic!

Cheers again

That was brilliant timing as I was just trying to solve the same question. This is my first post as a newbie.
One other situation I can't fathom is how to take the best market price on an offset bet if the offset has not been met within a fixed time period.
Thanks for all the ideas and help from this forum

Assuming your using the "Fil or Kill" to trigger your offset then you can create a rule type

"Green all Selection"
Or
"Close trade on Seletion" (with or without greening)

With the condition
"Fill or Kill bet Time Condition"
Greater than X sec (enter the time you want to close at best price if offset not matched)

Hi Dallas
Thanks for that. I must say I've only had Bet Angel for a few months and think it's wonderful software. Your responses to question show how dedicated you are to Bet Angel.
In automation I am using a back bet with offset and a fill or kill time condition, no stop. My understanding is that the fill or kill only applies to the initial back bet. Once the back bet has been accepted the offset lay bet is not subject to any conditions. Is that correct?
I am wanting to take the best price on the offset bet after a fixed time if it hasn't been matched, which I think your reply covers. I don't want to kill the offset as that would leave me with an exposed back back. I don't understand why there is a need to have a fill or kill to trigger the offset, although that's what I am doing.

Hi Dallas
Have just looked at the conditions and see the fill or kill is the time since there was a fill or kill bet, so now I understand. Sorry I didn't look at that before replying.

.....and so, to prevent a loss of over x amount is it a "green up all selections" on profit greater or lesser than -x

My logic is letting me down.
