according to log the pre off market suspended at 16:04:13 and no inplay market was opened

not surprising really as the race was more or less half way through.

They usually roll back to the official off time.

Andrea from the BF Live Assistance team: "We received an update that bets prior to the official off time will be settled and the BSP will be reconciled. Official Off time was 16:02:27"

Okay, guys - completely understand some of you will have been hit hard by this, but for me it's resulted in £1,641.55 profit as I had some £500 on the back side on the winner prior to the off. Was looking to lay off in-running, but never got that far. Potential upside versus potential downside in case of situations like this could be the meat for an interesting discussion...

the whole point of trading (my opinion), is that there is very little risk to your bank. you just churn it over and over and over with little or minimal risk. accepting relatively small profits and losses (in comparision to amount of money you churn through a market).

there is no potential upside if you are a trader in crossing your fingers and hoping to luck out because befair as crashed, frozen, or a market failed to suspend etc. you may as well dump all your self discipline and hard work, and gamble your bank away in a dumb manner instead of betfair doing it for you.
