These International breaks are absolutely horrendous, littered with meaningless uncompetitive fixtures. You get the odd decent games but by an large it's 90% crap.

Football is over diluted now, we've got World Cup expansion to 48 teams, Champions League expansion to a 36 team 1st round group stage, expansions already of Europe & Conference Leagues all to squeeze every last penny out of the fans and people are daft enough to pay mainly on TV as all you see is empty stadiums unless the big boys are playing.

Football is in fast danger of becoming the new horse racing with a lot of it becoming uncompetitive dross all to squeeze a few extra quid. Is it really worth it? I don't think so
Yep, they will keep milking away at the cash cow that is football because opinions of "legacy fans" don't matter.

American billionaires in particular see it as a massive opportunity because they believe others are doing a very poor job at commercializing it, Todd Boehly being the latest one. Even with the exorbitant prices he's been paying he still believes prices are incredible value long term. And obviously it's a massive sportswashing opportunity as well.

Although from a trading POV I like the international breaks to have a break myself since they give you some freedom to balance things out, while daily racing always felt like a 9 to 5 job but it can come in handy as sort of filler markets when needed. But with how the woke trends are going who knows if it's even a sport in 10 years, you could see things like greyhounds being banned as well.

The punishment certainly doesn't fit the crime. FFP does the exact opposite of what the title suggests, but I suppose that's a different argument right now.

I cant honestly understand how they come to that decision. I think it will get reduced but it will open up a massive can of worms for the majority of teams in the league, the rules as they are not sustainable, nor are they in the best interests of the league.
Fully agree it's very harsh, not seen all the details but miscalculating funds through an unprecedented Covid situation is not the same as blatantly cheat at every opportunity.

But I feel they're just using Everton to set an example, to then go after the big boys. I really hope that's the case.

Don't want Everton to go down because of this, hopefully the manager can use this sense of injustice to galvanize his squad, "us vs them" mentality etc, it can be a powerful motivator.

Why do clubs refer themselves to the FA? Just keep quiet about it. ;)
Contrary to popular belief the directors have a responsibility to run the business within the rules/law. Any suspected breach found needs to be reported firstly because they earn a few 'we came clean' points and secondly the Directors could be held responsible in some cases!

I was in the financial services game and one of the rules of the regulators was you had to self declare any breaches if not then you would have two charges of rule breaches against you!
You missed the " ;) ".

On the contrary. Firlandsfarm merely expanded on the reason for your wink. You winked, he explained.

There was no need to quote me then.

Fair point. His explanation would stand on it's own merit.

So Diaz will be properly knackered for Man C on Saturday?
"Liverpool chartered a plane for Diaz and his wider family on Friday to bring them to Merseyside and help the family following their traumatic experience.

The winger will join up with them when he returns from international duty, with Colombia away to Paraguay on Tuesday."

I'll just add, the forum is sick and tired of having to wade through arguments between me and FF. I've eased off responding to his posts. It would be nice if he did the same to my posts. But of course, that's up to him. ;)

It's simple Derek. Don't reply to Firlandsfarm. Reply to anyone else with abandon. For the record I think your posts are pretty much spot on. Rarely agressive or riddled with irrational bile. But it seems you two have a basic issue that clogs up the forum. That's why I suggested you start a seperate thread for you both to bicker.

The clock and information bar on the Betfair website seems to have gone again.

Looks like the SoccerStats site has been fixed, no longer the need to open links in a new tab. :D

Brazil Serie B now on 12 seconds. I greened up immediately - 24-second wait!

Edit: switched to the other Serie B match and it's on 5, same country, same league, same time!

Either abandon or abundance, chief. I just think you and Firlandsfarm should treat each other with greater care.
Repeating myself here, but you both post interesting/challenging stuff.
Quite why you bounce off each other like the opposite ends of a magnet is a mystery to me.
