It doesn't take many of those that defy logic to hurt you badly... Brave or foolhardy?

Anyway, I'm pleased that that one came back for you.

First race at Dundalk yesterday. Racing Post had a live article saying there was a big gamble on 6 runners from the same stable. ISP of 6/4 and BFSP of 7.76.

I've noticed a lot of 'gambles' occur on early prices and then rebound through the rest of the day. So I think the old school version of a gamble and the modern one are differing things.

From 3.5 early prices to over 25 before the off?

This cost me a lot of money as I was convinvced that it surely must eventually tumble back down...

I have NEVER seen the like!

Its a strange looking graph, not much money is actually being traded. The larger single bets don't seem to be causing much price movement. The big moves seem to be caused by lots of tiny little bets of just a few quid.

I was watching this in real time and using play money (still very much at early stages so wont be using real money for a while), and even I did well out of it. How often does this type of thing happen, I assume by your comment that this was the simplest trade ever, its a very rare occurrence? I was sort of hoping this type of thing happened often, but I guess that would make lift too easy wouldn't it.

Usually it will be every few months bets like this come into the market, often when it happens its repeated on a few more races throughout the day

The last one was about 6mths ago some guy laying the hell out of the front 4 runners with large chunks on every race and this lasted for nearly a whole week - it was heaven!, even then he seemed to return every tuesday for a few more weeks :D

The name 'Bomber' has been given to someone who turns up every so often (has been for years) and he wacks some huge bets especially on the short price fav's and really moves the market - not seen him for a while tho but if memory serves me correct he often appears around Nov so may yet see him in coming weeks.
