Trump will now bounce this around the courts again until he gets elected, then get it thrown out completed, by Presidential instructions.
Sort of backs up the thoughts that if you have enough money you can virtually get away with anything....so much for democracy...

The alternative? One is Putin. Another is China. And Trump as well. And I can't see Trump not being re-elected. That's a horrible prospect, but it's looking unavoidable.

That's railing as in "to object", not a metal structure with spikey bits.
But I do think the French are just messing with their politicians. Give it a democratic term and they will spit Le Pen out. I might even seek out some odds on that. Vive la révolution!

And I really did lol when I read that. But my view is keep on railing at things you don't approve of.

Is having sex with a porn star an official act?Archery1969 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 3:32 pmSupreme Court rules that Trump is partially immune from prosecution.
He is immune from prosecution for official acts while president but not unofficial ones. It would be upto a lower court to rule on what’s classed as official or unofficial but any decisions by the lower court can be referred back to the Supreme Court as and when.

I don't think there's anything official about the attempted couple or asking officials to "find" 10,000 votes. Prosecutors will go through his indictment line by line and charge him for whatever they can. They'll either get the bastard eventually or hound him for the rest of his life.

I could be wrong but I think the Supreme Court ruled on the first 2 saying he was immune from prosecution. They voted 6-3 in his favour. One of the judges who did not agree basically said “So, we are saying that a president could order Navy Seals to kill his opponents and as an official act would be immune from prosecution”. She said their ruling was extremely dangerous.Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 1:22 amIs having sex with a porn star an official act?Archery1969 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 3:32 pmSupreme Court rules that Trump is partially immune from prosecution.

The three liberal justices on the Supreme Court strongly dissented from the decision. Justice Sonia Sotomayor said: "The President is now a king above the law."
Fun times…

Or Trump as in commander in chief when elected could round up all the democrats and have them shot. According to the Supreme Court that would be an official act as president and he be immune from prosecution….
This could be a new strategy for modern politics. Shoot the opposition......oh hang on we've been there and got the t-shirt. Good old fashioned fuedalism. Which Cromwell dedicated his life to destroying in favour of parliamentarianism. I know people that believe democracy is doomed because it allows people like Trump and Hitler to gain control then obliterate the democratic processes that allowed them to take power.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 1:26 pmOr Trump as in commander in chief when elected could round up all the democrats and have them shot. It's up to Biden to sign an official executive order to have those six justices lined against the wall, ASAP.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 1:26 pmOr Trump as in commander in chief when elected could round up all the democrats and have them shot. I think if someone executed Supreme Court Justices then that would cause the civil war you mentioned.Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 2:24 pmIt's up to Biden to sign an official executive order to have those six justices lined against the wall, ASAP.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 1:26 pmOr Trump as in commander in chief when elected could round up all the democrats and have them shot. Yes, the Pelican Brief
I knew you were joking. I just decided to exploit the idea to counteract (in a very small way) the lunacy of the current populist mentality that you can say what the hell you like. Even when they are called out on their lies they still say the facts are fake news.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 2:17 pmI was joking Greenmark.greenmark wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 2:04 pmThis could be a new strategy for modern politics. It's an ongoing battle.Although with Trump and these Supreme Court Justices, anything is possible if he gets back in. Someone, somewhere needs to throw they hat in the ring and quickly otherwise 2025 could be a very strange year for the world.

Strange and disturbing times.
But odds wise. Trump is going to win. I would be staggered if he doesn't.

I’m wondering if Obama doesn’t jump in the ring. He wasn’t great on foreign policy but more steady on his feet and can put sentences together. No offence to Joe.greenmark wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 5:29 pmI knew you were joking.
