Yep just reading Reeve's speech she is about to give, absolutely nothing for the north bar re-generation project around Old Trafford as part of their new ground/refurb. Slim pickings for the North-East, Scotland and Northern Ireland as normal.

London is the capital of the south of England and nothing more, people in the North-East no longer see it as the capital of the UK, that is the feeling and I can say that with confidence.
Not read it yet but it seams every time Labour has an opportunity to shoot itself in the foot they take up the challenge with relish.

Politically, they have made some monumental mistakes.

I suspect even the labour supporters are looking on with horror.
Labour have zero business experience and it shows, they say all the right words though. Reeves is sounding like Margret Thatcher one minute slashing regulation then a Just Stop Oil protester the next with all this net zero nonsense. This is the 3rd growth kickstart initiative in 6 months the budget, investment forum and now this it smacks of desperation.

No good loading business up with national insurance, high energy prices and rates then going for growth. Need to take a risk and go in the red a little IMO give business energy subsidies for example jus do something different ffs but it's just more of the same old. if you agree with Trump or not at least with Trump he's doing something different and prepared to take a risk.

The only growth we've had is in train strikes and train drivers pay.

What a f*ckn liberty
And some pretty whizzy infrastructure in the South of England (at a cost)... The point being it was the North that really needed that infrastructure / investment...

Screenshot 2025-01-28 104236.png

The above about sums it up... £100m spent on a bat tunnel to protect unendangered bats without any assessment on whether the bats were in any sort of danger.

==> got to blame the keeper of the purse strings for that incompetence...

- Ask for evidence from other people, but refuse to provide it yourself when asked.
- Make up fictional positions and attribute them to others
- Make derogatory personal comments but pull up others if they do they same.
- A constant stream of excuses / deflections when asked to justify some remark
Oh dear, I can only assume you haven't read my posts on this issue. BTW now who is making accusations without justifications?

Can I arbitrate here? I respect you both but the dialogue has turned into a pillow fight. Perhaps wait for the next trigger issue?

It may come as a shock to you, but there is a much bigger and younger world out there, than the one you are living in 💀

....only days after rememberance of those lost to the Holocaust that was planned and executed by fascists. And this is what fascism is about. The elite view the rest of society as disposable collateral to line their own pockets. You and the youngsters you describe (which I would actually dispute that there is support for fascism in that cohort) should study history a bit.

A shame Christopher Hitchens is no longer with us, he had Islam's number 20 years ago. People are waking up to what it is and why it's dangerous, it has no place in Western society.

He wasn't particularly keen on Christians either....
