As someone else mentioned in another thread, I am also an "Agile Practitioner", so I iterate to my intended target.
Hope you've not been reading the same yoga book as the other poster, can't really see that ending well.

Good old fashioned trial and error is the only real methodology you should need, I'm afraid it's that simple.

I'm rubbish at this!
Some small wins, and more bigger losses!
Here's hoping it was just a bad Monday!

i don't do automation, but I'd be pretty pleased, if like you, I got those results after a few days of trying. Small sample though, so hope you continue in this way. One tweak and you are above 50% SR and in profit.

Thanks, yes, I fixed a couple of "bugs" as well that I saw in flight. £1 of those losses was probably from that, and also the fact that I now realise if you "save" a change to the ruleset in Guardian and you have in-progress markets the metadata is "reset", ie.all stored values reset etc... So I learned something there!

Another -£2.45 loss from 19 races today. It seems to be £1 forward and £2 back...

6 days progress:

Observations:
Home runs very rare, only 3 races made 2x my average loss, and 1 made 4x
Quite a large number of scratches, 25
Trends rare across all race types

I have enjoyed your posts and wish you all the luck in the future.

Have you tried trading well before the off (scalping) when there is less volatility? You will be surprised on what you can achieve 20-10mins before the off!

Happy New Year!

Glad you're enjoying this thread.
Thanks for the tip, I'll have a look at that.

I will add, the advantage of Automation is it helps break down the workings of the market to help you understand it. The bot enforces discipline so you can then analyse.

What do you mean by the workings of the market?

That I am discovering, but say I believe in a given setup, and the bot exercises it, I then observe what happens following it over many iterations, i can then maybe see how the market reacts in that particular scenario...
And then just maybe use it to my advantage.

I think that's the best way of going about it, not trying to find a piece of automation that fits every market, rather use in every market and see where that automation fits.

I haven't traded for a long time now, but previously scalped pre-race Horse Racing markets [manual]. What worked for me was placing the trade in the MIDDLE of the price range of your selection[s] on the ladder interface. This allowed me to anticipate, and make my predictions ...

Happy New Year
