Drawback is that it doesn't work for everything you can read. The spritzlet is quick to start, but it doesn't skip text you would normally ignore. And on my mobile it can't cope with about half of the things I throw at it. DRM, text in images etc. A reader with e-ink will never be quick enough to update the display, so the old kindles are out no matter what.
Aside from that, I *do* read a lot quicker with spritz and I can't see I have less understanding of the text I read. 570 words per minute seems to be my goldilocks zone, up from 450 last week.
Maybe something like taking a picture of something you want to read and automatically spritz it would solve it.

Just discovered that the spritzlet works for pdfs on firefox. It doesn't on chromium.
