Would love to be in that position but the way I'm feeling right now, I can't see it. I just don't understand how people can make consistent profit doing this, nevermind make a living out of it.

Most of them don't make a living dude. If you go back to one of the original traders who made a success out of it Adam Todd, he did it for a year and then gave up, his back ground was as a commodities trader in the city. You have either got it or you aint, I am one of the ones who knows his limitations of trading so look for my edges elsewhere.
