Nightmare mate, my internet went down for about 60 seconds and I ended up losing £240 :( that along with some rubbish trading has left me about £200 down for the day.

2k liability in play on a 5f! I hate that, heart feels like it's going to pop out your chest

That was the Huntingdon race with the short price wasn't it? I had just exited when the price plunged in. It seem like everybody left the market at the same time.

I had a stinker yesterday, so as always, it's horses for courses I guess we all have slightly different styles. I had one of my best weekends ever this weekend so was hoping for a better result yesterday, but the market just didn't take any of my money and I spent all day chasing my tail.

yes that was exactly the race. I was quite a bit away from the money but the spike came from nowhere as they usually do and completely steam rollered me and took around 4k at various prices and showed no sign of recovery. An expensive lesson but now I know to have less liabilities in these evening races on short favourites!

Well they should be pretty stable and that one was, but it just fell apart at that moment. I think you were just unlucky. I remember glancing at the volume and it only seemed to show around 10k when that happened. I'll have a proper look later.

There is some big spoofing about on these evening races but they stick out like a saw thumb, I've pretty much pulled my loss back now which is a pleasant surprise.

well as annoying as it was to have no losses all day and have one thumping -130 towards the end it could have quite easily been 130 all green had the market been a bit beefier so its just one of those I'll take on the chin!! There seems to be some big volume spikes tonight in general. Its not the dutching guy this time either.

Well I had some friends with a horse running at Cheltenham tonight and they were there for some fun. They said they couldn't understand why the horse was so short because they'd be happy if he made it round in one piece. Despite this the spoofer was in action and there was £5K £3K and then another £6K smashed into what was a drifting price. I never saw the money come out lower down so perhaps it was a bookie? Having said that I can't believe a bookie even would have taken anywhere near that amount of money at Cheltenham. I can only think it was a numpty who was dumping orders in the market.

The horse?? Well I think it's still running

Well Andy it was an insanely stupid thing, For some reason I had it in my head the 3rd fav, Thia Vango, was going to go below 4, I backed it a few times on the way down then as it was bobbing around the 4.0 I kept backing it till I had over 2k stake on it, then I had a moment of sanity and tried to get out of my position and the money was just not there to take my 2k lay! I got about £1500 matched at really bad prices then had to get the rest out in play.

I really don't know why I did it?

I have done this a few times last week as well (with big losses), where I just keep adding to a position, It's like I'm trying to force the market, It's like a very bad habit I'm developing. I need to nip it in the bud before it ruins me!

I've done that before as well, you build a position and it's nicely in profit but when you go to pull the trades or exit, the market just can't cope! I dumped near on £500 doing the same thing at 12's once. I took a screen shot to remind me not to do it again. My exit pushed the price out to the 20's.
