Rory Stewart made a bad call but somehow many people now think his bad call means that must invalidate everything that comes out of his mouth from here on in.
That seems to be to be preposterous and illogical. There is too much spite and nastiness in the world.

The Republicans only need 15 more votes to secure the House of Representatives, if they do then that would be a clean sweep paving the way for Trump to basically to do whatever he wants.
All unthinkable 24 hours ago.
What a cock by Harris and the Democrats.

i thin k everyone is in agreement that the party should have taken a tough love approach and replaced Joe Biden back at the start of the year, rather than waiting for the car crash..Archery1969 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 2:33 pmThe Republicans only need 15 more votes to secure the House of Representatives, if they do then that would be a clean sweep paving the way for Trump to basically to do whatever he wants.

It wasn't easy getting rid of him. In fact they didn't. He eventually made the decision himself.jimibt wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 2:37 pmi thin k everyone is in agreement that the party should have taken a tough love approach and replaced Joe Biden back at the start of the year, rather than waiting for the car crash..Archery1969 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 2:33 pmThe Republicans only need 15 more votes to secure the House of Representatives, if they do then that would be a clean sweep paving the way for Trump to basically to do whatever he wants.

Yeah, there should be a mechanism to remove a president for medical reasons. But that’s not going to be allowed or happen now. Plus I am reading that Trump might try and change the rules about only being allowed to serve 2 terms in office. The more worrying thing is that Trump has been given a get out of jail card.
Given the overwhelming support and votes he got there is no way any of these legal cases against him can succeed.
It looks like allot of the prosecutors against will be removed after Jan 20th.
So, it seems Trump is now in the same camp as diplomats, Putin and the King of England. ie. Above the law.
It all seems shocking to most half educated people but I guess having 76 million people in your corner makes allot things go away.
However, there was obviously a big problem if you’re paying $13 for a box of eggs etc.
On another note, Wall Street hits a record high on Trump’s win. Allot of people just become very rich. WB ?

If he's pals with Vlad and Kim etc, doesn't this lower the chance for WW3 and stuff?Archery1969 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 3:10 pmSo, it seems Trump is now in the same camp as diplomats, Putin and the King of England. ie. Above the law.

Yes but at what cost to Mexico, Europe, UK, Ukraine, Lebanon, Gaza and possibly Taiwan ?Kai wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 3:24 pmIf he's pals with Vlad and Kim etc, doesn't this lower the chance for WW3 and stuff?Archery1969 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 3:10 pmSo, it seems Trump is now in the same camp as diplomats, Putin and the King of England. ie. I wonder if Argentina will see this Trump win as a reason to retake the Falklands. What would Trump do, what Reagan did and unofficially support the UK by allowing fighter jets to land and refuel on US aircraft carries or put economic pressure on the UK to give the islands back ?
Starmer gave the chagos islands back without much of a fight, didn’t he ?
As others have said, I think the UK is going to have to go to the EU with a begging bowl and end up with the same status as Greece, with all the required reforms that will involve. Although I really can’t see Mick Lynch accepting pension restructuring and salary drops for his members etc.
Very strange times ahead, me thinks….

Trump's legal team planning to halt criminal cases quickly.

So 3 nutters at the top of society having a cuddle is a good thing?Kai wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 3:24 pmIf he's pals with Vlad and Kim etc, doesn't this lower the chance for WW3 and stuff?Archery1969 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 3:10 pmSo, it seems Trump is now in the same camp as diplomats, Putin and the King of England. ie. They happen to be the biggest nutters in their respective countries, so no problem there.
"keep your friends close and your enemies closer" perhaps?
