And the furlough scheme. Benefit claimants get prosecuted for a few grand, but suddenly they're happy to hand out five-figure sums to anyone in business who wants it. There was even a poster on here asking for advice about his £20K windfall!

And some genius defending his right to stick it on a horse.

I almost wish for a forum comeback from Superfrank, the Superfrank who enjoyed gloating about Brexit and Boris in times past on here.

Both have been a f*cking disaster.
firlandsfarm has taken his place. :D
I don't take anyone's place, I have my own place. Just because you are strongly opinionated Derek does not mean you are right and just because someone else sees it differently does not mean they are wrong unless of course you are a LL in which case anyone with a differing view is clearly wrong.

It's right to say if you blatantly break the rules and have a complete disregard for them you should lose your job. It's not an opinion, it's fact, and applicable to every other occupation.

As I type, BJ says staying on as PM is the right thing to do, it would be irresponsible for him to resign!

I think it's time to bring in the men in white coats.

BJ describes the parties he attended as totally miserable experiences.

Ah I'm starting to see the problem here ... that is not fact it is an opinion, your opinion. I do not share your opinion that he "blatantly broke the rules" ... he broke them, yes, but there is no proof that he broke them "blatantly" (my opinion). A fact cannot have two different meanings at the same time so your claim that he "blatantly broke the rules" cannot be a fact. And I don't see how you can surmise that he had "complete disregard for them". Again that is an opinion, to be a fact you would need proof of that "complete disregard" without any political or other bias. So somehow you have used the broken formula that Opinion + Opinion = Fact. Sorry not so but your belief in that formula does explain a lot.

Why? Do you need them Derek?!!

Anyway having uncovered the problem here I do not see any point in continuing this conversation until you understand the difference between an opinion and a fact for that has been the underlying fuel of this prolonged exchange.

I have never said he didn't break the law but you have always said he lied which according to authorities of the English language he clearly did not.
   I think you need to rephrase that. The English dictionary is not a lie detector.
I didn't say it is and I can't see that any intelligent person would think I did! :o My how the words are being spun.

The problem is you cannot face facts. You cannot tell people "you must stay at home" and allow a party with 200 invitations without knowing what you're doing. You cannot tell people they can't be with their dying relatives and feel you've got a duty to say goodbye over a few drinks because somebody's leaving Downing Street. We're not talking about forgetting to wash your hands or put on a face mask.

The English dictionary defines the word lie, it doesn't tell you if somebody lied. You suggested the authorities of the English language say he clearly did not lie. :)

By "authorities of the English language" I was referring to dictionaries.

Apparently there are 29 letters in. Will they get the other 25 ? :?

If you go to a circus and a clown tells you not to squeeze the fake flower with water in, not to juggle the balls infront of the sea lion and not to play with the unicycle, then goes and does it all himself...

The problem isn't that the clown was a hypocrite, the problem is that the clown was talking nonsense the whole time and none of his rules made any logical sense in the first place. The issue is to realise that instead of arguing the semantics of "I didn't juggle the balls infront of the sealion, I juggled them infront of the seal!"

The issue isn't whether the tupperware with the cakes in was open or closed, the real issue is much much bigger

That's what I meant. The dictionary does not say that BJ didn't lie. It's your incorrect interpretation of the word that concludes it.
