I'm used to having my path blocked by dozy old women, completely oblivious to the universe around them, but an 18-year-old store worker!! She looked through me as though I didn't exist!
Do you remember being 18 ? You're just a dozy old man blocking their path. :)

He probably parks his Range Rover infront of peoples driveways when he picks up his golf clubs and shooting apparatus from the country club supplies shop too

I've received an email from my energy supplier informing me that the government has enforced a £2500 energy cap. I'd normally get that news from Sky or BBC. I've also heard that Putin has dropped a thermonuclear bomb on Kyiv and fired a few nukes at the UK, but you won't hear about it on the news for a few days. Far bigger things going on.

I realise the gravity of today's event, but a 24/7 endless news loop!

Full credit to Channel 4. At least the world hasn't stopped revolving for them, even if it's only a programme about dogs.

"An inertial frame is a frame of reference which is not accelerating to a predefined inertial frame".

Thanks a lot, couldn't be any clearer!!

Rained more in the last 3 or 4 days than probably the previous 6 weeks here in Newcastle.

It's rained more in the last 3 days than in the last 3 months here in Norfolk, but for once I'm not ranting. I realise it's not just my lawn that needs it but everywhere I go seems to be getting greener and springing back to life. :D

Grass is as tough as old boots. We shouldn't be surprised it sits there dormant throughout winter and then miraculously bursts forth when temp/moisture/light permits. Nature is pretty wonderful.

I didn't take any chances with my lawn. I've heard grass can only survive a drought for so long, eventually the roots will die.

Nope. I guess if you want a lawn fit for crown green bowls, then perhaps.
As a regular walker through grassy areas I've been thinking "Well that's knackered".
A few downpours with temps still in the growing zone and Whoosh!!!
Even in an area that was dug up recently and the guys sprinkled some grass seed and it got trampled down and baked hard.
Now the grass is spreading again.
Think Prairie or Savanna. Grass is unstoppable.

 Derek27 being tortured by the demise of our sovereign. TBF I feel 50% the same. But I recognise that A LOT of people felt a great connection to Liz.
So I've lost my fix of weekend footy. But these folks have had their world shaken. So let it play out, I say.
One thing that kind of puzzled/worried me was one of the FA's justifications for cancelling games was due to the "understandable" reallocation of police resources. Were they expecting riots from supporters of a woman that epitomised correctness and selfless (albeit pampered, privileged) public service.
 Monty Python's Hell's Grannies just popped into my head.

Yes, in Edinburgh the police were put on mandatory 12hr shifts, which could last 15/16hrs without a break. They are expecting it to continue for next 5 days or so until the crowds die down.

==> zero capacity to manage footy...

edit - I blame the bbc for this
