Democracy doesn't exist in Putin's Russia. He has made the eradication of democracy his highest priority. And it's worked for him and his cronies - so far.napshnap wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2023 3:40 pmI've already said that I'm not the fan of the constitution reform and wish the parliament had more power and less notoriety. I don't think he's ruining the country, but I don't think it being governed optimally either.greenmark wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2023 3:05 pmBut you never criticise Putin? Perhaps you have family in Russia that prevents you from expressing your true view?napshnap wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2023 2:38 pm
Already told ya - democracy as a rule of the "average" doesn't work well, cause the masses can be brainwashed and manipulated, being it "communism" or capitalism or whatever - doesn't matter. As for Gorbachev "era", yes it was interesting times, too bad it was short and ended with Yeltsin super presidency.
For us "westerners" Putiin is a slam-dunk dictator. He's ruining Russia.
But remember Abraham Lincoln said "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time".
