From what Graham Brady says, I think the threshold may have been reached earlier in the week and he held back the news until after the jubilee celebrations!
Best time for BJ to have the vote before and not after the Tories get slaughtered in Wakefield, am I right in thinking if he wins they can’t push another VONC for at least a year?

Correct
Wouldn't really surprise me if some of the letters that went in were from allies just to ensure its triggered now to get it out the way
Personally to stand a better chance of getting rid of him I'd of though waiting till after the by-elections would have been better

Yeah, this all could have been done on purpose, just to get it out of the way once and for all.

Boris now 1.22 to win VONC, I don’t really want him to survive it but Motty’s endless ‘back Boris to go this year’ at every opportunity makes me want him to win decisively
"The Conservative Party's rules stated clearly that if a Leader survived a Confidence Vote (as Theresa may had done on 12th December) they could not be challenged again for a year. Nevertheless, such was the growing pressure on the Tory Backbenches for May to go , that on the 24th April , the 1922 Committee Executive held an extended discussion on whether or not to change the rules. In the end, a vote was apparently taken, and a proposition to amend the rules to allow for an early additional Vote of Confidence was narrowly defeated."
I'm hoping he wins the VoNC and leads his party to disaster in the next election, they'll be stuck with him for a year. The news will be pretty boring without him.
