This war has actually speeded up research into energy solutions. I follow energy news quite closely and now believe most of Europe will move totally towards renewables and Nuclear Fission Reactors within 20 years.greenmark wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2024 12:41 pmOddly I have a different view on gas. As this scenario drags on Russia's European customers have and are feverishly finding alternative sources.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2024 12:57 amHas Germany done the unthinkable. My grandad told me to never trust a German.
Of course you should never treat those now for past progressions by their forefathers, maybe Germany is returning to type.

And in the long term it's now clear Russia has proved they are prepared to us energy as weapon so everyone else is redoubling their efforts for energy independence or at least energy sharing with trusted partners. Gas is a dead duck 20 years from nw. But I guess Putin doesn't care about that 'cos he'll be gone.
Whilst we all pray for a fully functioning Nuclear Fusion Reactor, a novel concept for nuclear fission is to place the reactors a mile down in 30 inch bore holes, a lot cheaper than building a surface reactor such as Sizewell C.

The UK and I include Europe can no longer be reliant on other countries for energy, food or trade because of nutters running other states.
