Americans do it daily in the stock market, thousands of people go on a YouTube livestream and just trade together, banter together & help each other. One problem is latency but it's more of a real time in the moment "Today's racing" thread. Another issue is people seem to be scared of losing some mystical edge that they have.... holding onto it like "my precious" so any concept of moving forward with the times is instantly squashed.
It's a good idea to a point but I suppose it depends on how exactly it would work. If you had 20 people just chatting away that's one thing but if you have 10 of those people asking how to trade the next race then that's a problem. Imo it would just be full of people who want to be walked though each trade step by step. You talk about 'mystical edges' but if you've worked hard over months or years to get profitable you wouldn't hand your knowledge to the person next to you.
You talk about the stock market but there's no comparison. As the Gamestop story showed if a large group of people got on board at the same time at the beginning then all of them can make money because the stock market can absorb it. If 20 people tried to lay the favourite in the 1st race of the day at 3.60 it wouldn't work.
