Small fish in a big pond The opposite to post description read on ..

All my years following bet angel forum I have now came to the conclusion that the pro traders are the big fish and the upcoming traders are the small fish which I agree is the order of rank but in my opinion the big fish prey on the small fish which in trading I get that but ...
this forum has very little tolerance of naivety and new fish which is very off putting to newbies and thus why newbies come and go very often
So in a nutshell my very obvious opinion of this forum is that it supports pro traders and everyone else can walk the plank
The last thing I want is to be thrown out but I do believe that we should support newbies that little bit more and be more tolerant towards them .
Constructive criticism nothing else dont pound me for being that one that says something that no one wants to hear
Bash away I'm ready

I don't think you'll find anywhere else on the internet that offers the same welcome, advice and encouragement for traders of all levels and skill sets than this forum. For me the reason newbies come and go is because most don't realise how much work is actually involved and some people aren't up to the challenge so they just move on to the next get rich quick scheme. And then there are some people who think more experienced traders should share their secrets and walk them through each trade step by step. Nobody needs to be told life doesnt work like that, you have to put the work in yourself. After all we're all in direct competition with each other.

Would be interested to hear your views on how the forum could be more welcoming or accommodating to new traders but your opinion that it only supports 'pro traders' is demonstrably false a quick glance at the many many threads over years where new comers have asked for advice and have their questions answered proves that.

...you couldn't be more wrong - maybe less beer and more monster is required!

To climb to the top of the ladder you need to take the steps yourself. Others can encourage you, but you need to be the one putting one foot above the previous foot to get to the top.

Lots of good advice and discussion on here (much better than FB groups which are made of 95% gamblers in my experience, no talk of anything to do with ladders).

I've not really saw any newbies preyed upon but obviously people who worked for many years and invested lots of money into their strategies aren't going to put lots of effort helping everyone and posting everything they know about their livelihood for free. Even if they did I don't think it would make much difference to manual trading, because in my opinion trading is 1% knowing and 99% practice/screentime. There is no 123 strategy that works all the time without extensive experience in the markets, the journey is up to the person themselves.

If you help people with trading you will notice that most people turn up and expect to make a profit right away, you tell them the same advice and reality over and over only for it to fall upon deaf ears which becomes frustrating, 6 months later they give up. Like TraderPat said most people don't realise how much work is required or have the drive to see themselves through to profitability, which in my opinion requires around 2-3 years of full time practice, learning and reviewing

I honestly don't see why you think that, maybe give a few examples?

Its just the nature of the game that there's a high turnover of people but I think most who reach out for advice or help get their questions answered.

Go back to when you was seeking the advice from pro traders what would you of expected as an answer other than complete jargon no unexperienced trader would of understood ??
that's my point
Constructive criticism dont take me as an attack on bet angel I love this forum just been their worn the t shirt and feel for the newbies bet angel is a tough plaice to be IMHO
Pros have very little time for learners as they are competition I get that Hence the big fish small pond
I just have a big heart probably not the best way to be

I was late coming to the forum, I did a couple of courses with Peter Webb beforehand so I had a good grounding but when I joined the forum I still had plenty of questions and for the most part they were answered but and this is important there's a difference between asking your neighbour if you can borrow a cup of sugar and asking that neighbour to buy your sugar for you. There's only so much advice you can give before you get to the point where people are literally reaching into your pocket. Having said that the fundamentals are pretty much covered on the forum and there's really no secret to trading. You just have to put the effort in and try and pick up the odd nugget here and there. There are so many videos on BA TV to learn from for free and that's huge because there are other people selling video packs that aren't even as good or informative as the ones on BA TV.

This is a video that I learned more from than any other, it really set me on my way:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8Av8-Dvgb4

Each new trader struggles with something that others maybe don't and you have to identify what that is but I'm sure there's a video on BA TV that would help. The other thing you have to take into consideration is if you put 5 profitable traders in a room together and watched them trade the same race they wouldn't all trade it the same way so even if you knew what everybody else knows it still comes down to your own trading style and your own attitude to risk.

Like I said for most of us it takes a lot more effort and hard work than we imagined when we first got involved.

+1 I was told a long time ago that this forum is full of ego. I personally would like to see those ego's on the live stage.... I've said before that I would be willing to live stream my trades.
