Interesting point. I am currently putting together a database of all the data I've ever recorded and while I am keen to look at similar races across time, I am starting to wonder whether the best information/signals are from the first hour of the markets.I was just thinking the same thing; I was talking to a fellow trader last week and i said that after the first three races, you tend to know how the day will pan out.
I also noticed that in a recent blog that Peter W said he accelerates his risk into the market based on how the day unfolds.
Steve,
The strange thing is (and this shouldn't correlate), I used to email a full time trader who doesn't trade now because of PC, but I found (in general) when he had a good day using Pre Play I also had a good day "in play" and visa versa
Its almost as if betfair/ANother are switching something on and off and various days at will??
regards
Peter

@PeterLe
I think pre & post are different beasts and all I can assume is that the link between them was liquidity levels.
I know Betfair aren't popular among traders, but I don't believe they're switching anything. The days of struggle I think are either down to lack of liquidity and/or simply individuals trying to manipulate the market.

appologies a little bit off topic is anyone else having problems everything seems very sticky, bets taking a lot longer than usual to show on the ladder etc, feels to me here as though the whole thing could fall over.
Just trying to find out if its a local issue to me or not
