Simple bit of logic to solve that issue. it's when people have less closing quotes than open.
Betfair Account Closed
Just put in a flipping /quote!
Or check your post after submitting, even if that is rich coming from someone who changes his email address linked to a site without checking it.

So did Derek get his BF account back yet or what?Derek27 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 12:55 pmNever got an email reply so I tried again with live chat. They kept me waiting half an hour while Bumfair held a high-level executive meeting to discuss my account, it reminded me of standing outside the headmaster's office waiting to be called in, but eventually my account was reactivated. I noticed on another thread, Michael had the same problem and it just took him five minutes to sort it out!
I asked if I can change my login email and they said no, you've already had multiple accounts! Only Bumfair would regard changing your email address as a new account! So I'm now stuck with an email address I've used on all sorts of things, even porn. Come to think of it, perhaps it is a suitable email address, I think I'll move my Bumfair bookmarks into my low-down porn folder.![]()

I just moved in with family and changed my Betfair address. The family member has an existing Betfair account. I've had a break from trading but intend to come back shortly. Is there any risk to my account?
Family member would happily close their account, but I don't particularly want them to log in and stir things up as their account has been dormant for a while.
My understanding is two people living in the same household can each have an account. But when you change your address the decision is made by their computer system automatically, it literally took just five seconds for me to receive an email telling me my account's closed when I changed my email address.Ethanol wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 9:33 pmI just moved in with family and changed my Betfair address. I'd suggest you contact them first, explain the situation and confirm it's okay. If possible, get them to do it at their end.

Me and the missus have had seperate Betfair accounts for years.... at the same address (
), it's not a problem unless you also share the same funding bank account.
Peter, I think you said your kids have accounts too, are they still at home ?

Did they let you have separate pc allowance, thresholds, pc1 and pc2 calcs ?ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 10:14 pmMe and the missus have had seperate Betfair accounts for years.... at the same address ()
Thanks. Your message has helped towards me figuring out what may have happened.Derek27 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 9:41 pmMy understanding is two people living in the same household can each have an account. I changed my address on Betfair a couple of weeks ago. Before I posted my original message, I noticed an unread email I got from Betfair saying my second account had been shut down. I originally assumed this meant the redundant Blue Square accounts they set up years ago when they took over them, but maybe it's the family member's account (although they didn't receive any emails). My own email came through the exact time I changed the address.
Will look into this some more.
When they say your second account is closed, they mean they think you have two Bumfair accounts, so in reality they've closed your only account. It happens quite a lot on here, it's a real pain in the arse but usually it doesn't take long to sort out.Ethanol wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 10:37 pmThanks.
