RANT CORNER
Ok. When I hit one of those sites I just leave. But I understand how irritating it would be if it has info you want.

My first bad day in Canada.
Found 4 dead raccoons at the lower boundary of my property.
Two have been shot and the other two with arrows.
You can’t eat them. So why do it and why whoever did it trespass.
Wankers!!!!
Not happy.

Otherwise I don''t see the justification for killing them. Keep your garbage secure and any other food sources and they won't bother you unless you accidently corner one. No?
I mean I know they harb.our rabies and other nasties but wild animals do.

No neighbours for over 1.5 miles. But hunting all sorts allowed in Canada. Probably have about 20 or so gaze/kits on my property. They classed as vermin so allowed to be killed. Going to setup some trail cameras and see if whoever did it comes back. Although they cant be reported for killing them but I can report them for tresspass.greenmark wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2024 10:01 amThats sad. Not really a rant is it. A rant is fuming at injustice or stupidity of others.
Perhaps we should have an Idiot Corner. I fear I might be the most prolific poster there though.
I am surprised though. In IT I learned having a checklist of tasks was essential. Relying on my memory was a flawed strategy.
Applying a rules file should be automatic, like doing up the buttons when you put on a shirt, and it usually is.greenmark wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 6:15 amNot really a rant is it. A rant is fuming at injustice or stupidity of others.

Indeed, but if you know the steps. How critical is missing one? Then if you document it you just need to follow the list. You can amend the list over time.Derek27 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 1:19 pmApplying a rules file should be automatic, like doing up the buttons when you put on a shirt, and it usually is.greenmark wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 6:15 amNot really a rant is it. Or you can rely on memory and just wing it.

I remember a sales video from long ago when the presenter recommended a checklist for things to take to a sales meeting with a potential customer pointing out to the pooh-poohers that maybe the next time they take a flight there won't any need for the pilot to run through his checklists because he's probably done the flight dozens, if not hundreds, of times!
I can beat that I sat there for an hour going thru each step of the file to see why it didn't trigger, then found out I hadn't applied it to the market

Not posted in a while as been super busy with other things but it's always nice to come back and read the threads. I particularly check this one to see what Derek's been upto.
Hope everyone doing well.
