Don't think I could unsubscribe from football even if I wanted to, the romance of football is too strong for me and not bothering to comment about that wouldn't feel right.
But for this romance to even work you would surely need an underdog and a favorite, if you lose this in the long term then you lose the potential profit?
Speaking of football romance, one of my earliest memories as a toddler is sitting on the living room floor watching football on TV trying to understand wtf was going on while my now late father was lounging on the sofa right behind me, that was probably what sparked it. Spent the first 15 years of my life playing football in the parks and streets, then the next 15 years I casually played some more football through FIFA and Football Manager, and afterwards I started trading football for a living, so it's safe to say that I like football

Football is basically your gift to the world, everyone around the globe can enjoy it for what it is and feel connected through it, it really is fu**ing beautiful in that sense, all you need is a ball and sometimes not even a real one, that's just... beyond amazing. But this very fact that it's so amazingly special and valuable is why it's appealing to ambitious businessmen.
And inviting all these brilliant businessmen to run these mammoth clubs and institutions has to be a double-edged sword eventually, they must be screaming in their pillow on a daily basis out of sheer frustration at the untapped financial potential of "soccer", so can't really blame them for being themselves. Not going to go into rabbit hole topics like sportswashing or I'll be here all week, but don't forget that this isn't really a new problem, the Premier League already has a club that is owned by a nation, an oil-rich nation that threw money at the boldest and baldest young managers who then threw even more money at the problem until he won something. Very romantic indeed.
It's perfectly understandable to see a lot of emotional comments around and on Sky too. I'm personally wary of any overreactions at this point, ideally I'd like to hear from all parties involved before passing any hard judgement and unsubscribing from football etc, but it doesn't look great at first glance, does it.
Overall I am somewhat worried but at the same time I'm confident that common sense will prevail and compromises will be reached.
