Instead of stops a good alternative is simply to vary your stakes depending on how well your trade is doing. If things are going well put even more on. If things go against you dont put any more on.

I thought today was pretty good. At least the olympics hasn't decimated the racing ahead of goodwood anyway!

That will be Chester off after that rain, following on from Hamilton last night.

Somebody was holding the price on Napinda. Noticed it in the last 5 mins to off.

Is it just me, or does today feel a bit like last month, ie market begins to move a bit, and then there's a huge spike?

Yesterday was similar.
From about 5pm onwards for a good two hour or so , the markets 'Felt' like they used to do, they certainly caught my attention.

No really noticed much today; had to put a full day in at work! :(

The attached chart (taken pre-off, even though it doesn't look it), sums up today...

Yep been a nightmare today. Last week things seemed to settle down back to normal but today has been all over the place again.

Anyone have any ideas as to what's causing it?

The scammers are back in action. The spikes clearly reveal the heavy manipulation and attempts to deliberately trick and misled whilst concealing where the real smart money is going.

The scammers have been about for the past decade. Why would they suddenly change their tactics?

My guess is that it's something to do with Betfair's sportsbook...
