B
Walk us through your thought process on how you would have entered the market based on the graphs.
Are the graphs merely plotting the prices or do you have some bespoke algorithm you have come up ?
Thanks

They are just prices PeterLe.

Basically... it's a 'market overview' for the top few horses for a whole meeting.

I do it to get a visualization for the 'shape' of the markets. See if I can see any patterns. Certainly it's one way to show volatility. Some may prefer standard deviations and similar metrics but I like a nice graph :)

Here's today's meetings at Wolverhampton and Southall.

Biggest drifter of the day : Truckers Darling in the 13:50 at Southall.

I'll try and write up a few pre-race markets in detail over the next few days so hopefully the forum sages can point me in the right direction!

thanks for that. 'see' what you mean. Im very much a visual person too.
might be a good idea to start a separate thread, post up one of your graphs with some narrative and ask for feedback as how to modify or get the best out of them. personally, I've never used graphs,so im not best placed to advise you, but there are a few on here who do and tested virtually every indicator under the sun.

Thanks Peter, if I have time I will try what you suggest. This is a mammoth thread, but a good one. I started posting to try and contribute something back to a thread I learned from. Trying to keep it alive for everyone's benefit.

But maybe your suggesting my chart's don't belong here? Although I suppose they are 'charts of the day' rather than 'chart of the day'.

Still I hope they provide a little value to those who are less diligent in data gathering and may have missed the markets to see at a rough glance what happened.

For today:
Kempton

Ludlow

Note particularly "Mr. SlopperBot" (mentioned in the 'Today's racing thread.') activity in the last and third last races at Ludlow and the first at Kempton. Observe the red lines big deviations from a trend due to him slopping the money around.

Some big bets being chucked around on Ausy racing at Rockhampton at 3.38am UK time. This drifter went on to win.

He's been everywhere today. He just gets very desperate to put his bet on and doesn't matter what price he gets.

Had a small panic. Was worried my automation had gone out of control.

Wasn't me thank goodness.

Someone was keen to suddenly get a big bet matched just before the off on this one at wagga. There was only a couple of grand matched before it.

There wasn't much been traded as the graph shows then suddenly about 10 ticks under the current price a decent amount appeared and was smashed out.
